The Top Gun Motorcycle School is privately owned and operated by Wells Cornette and has been in existance since April of 2000. The skills and techniques that you will learn at Top Gun are based on the many Police Motorcycle Schools Wells has attended. This school is a riding school, not an M.S.F. safety school.
At TOP GUN, we focus on teaching you how to become a more confident and skilled rider no matter what your current skill level may be. Instruction is given on a one on one basis which allows each student to advance at their own pace, not the pace of a group. The course focuses on effective braking, turning, weight distribution, and how to avoid pitfalls that often occur as a result of bad habits (even those you might not know you have). Wells and his instructors have a unique ability to explain riding techniques and skills in a way street riders of all abilities can understand and use. If you come with an open and relaxed mind, you'll go away with new skills and knowledge that will definintely make you a better rider
The school consists of one day starting at 9:00 am and lasts until the student is fully trained- usually in the afternoon sometime depends on student. All instruction is hands on and done at the training site. Helmet and boots are required. The school operates every day of the week and is by appointment only. Call to schedule your appointment. Levels of Training:
Level I- (Basic or Beginner) This is for people who have little to zero experience and is taught one on one only- private lesson.
Level II- (Advanced) This is for people who have a few months of riding time under their belt. This course introduces the rider to the C.T.B. technique for slow speed control, balance, and stability. The Level I is not required for this course.
Level III- (Expert) This is for people who have completed the Level II course only. This course is excellent for extreme control and balance of your motorcycle, specializing in the C.T.B. technique.
Personalized Training- Basic(Level I), Advanced(Level II), and Expert(Level III) is $300.00. TOP GUN will provide the bike if needed. The student has two choices of student bikes: Harley Davidson Road King or Honda Shadow ACE 750. Both are very easy to ride and maneuver. We recommend that students pre-register two weeks in advance in order to reserve a preferred date. In the event a student would need to cancel, the class can be rescheduled for a later date (no refunds). Certificates will be awarded upon completion of the course.
